20 things about me that you probably don’t need to know:
1. I have thing a for paper goods; stationary, blank books, note cards, stamps, postcards. I buy them and then won’t use them because they are too pretty. Sigh.
2. I love stuffed animals and to this day I anthropomorphize them to an unhealthy degree.
3. I play RPGs and like science fiction, fantasy, and comic books.
4. I am obsessed with personality typing but don’t believe any of them come even close to capturing the essence of humanity. Nevertheless, I am an ENFJ (an idealist in the Kiersey typology) and fluctuate between type 2 (the Helper) and type 4 (the tragic romantic) in the Enneagram system. I will happily type you upon request and hope to one day create my own unique system.
5. Until age 6, I lived in Tulsa, OK. There was a water park across the street from my house called Big Splash and we went almost every day.
6. My dad is an organic farmer and I am a huge advocate of all things organic, recycled, green or otherwise eco-friendly.
7. I played the violin from age 5 until I graduated college. It was my major identity in High School and I’m always surprised when people don’t know I play.
8. I lived in Madrid for a year when I was 14 with my Mom and Step-dad, who are both Spanish professors. I went to a public school there called Fortuny.
9. I love pickles. If I have a jar in the house I have to physically restrain myself from eating all of them. The same applies for olives and pickled okra. Nom.
10. I am allergic to garlic. I know, it’s a tragedy but believe it or not I am ok with it.
11. I have 3 half-siblings, the youngest of whom is 17 years older than me.
12. I have a dog named Baron who is lazy and neurotic (he is a rescue). We get along very well. It should also be noted that I love cats, horses, bunnies, chinchillas, and pretty much anything else with fur.
13. I love to make lists but do not enjoy actually having to accomplish anything on them.
14. Sometimes my dreams come true. Be skeptical. I am too.
15. If I had lots and lots of money I would buy art…lots and lots of art.
16. I wish I exercised more. Everyone keeps telling me to do yoga, but if I’m honest, I just don’t like it.
17. I like to look at old photos and cry. Nostalgia is one of my favorite feelings.
18. I have a tattoo on my back and while I love it, I have no intention of getting any more.
19. I hate the winter. But I love how flat Illinois is and feel confined by the landscape almost anywhere else.
20. I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person and am on a constant quest for truth, hope, and love.
