My dear friend and artistic colleague, Suzie, of Bees’netta wrote up a little interview with me today. Check it out.
John and I got out of Chicago on Wed. Aug. 26th, like a herd of turtles. We stopped over in Kalamazoo at the Bell’s Brewery for a quick bite and a drink, then headed up to Port Huron on the border between Michigan and Ontario. On Thursday, we headed into Canada, my first time there and drove at about 100km/hr over to Niagara Falls. We had lunch at a place called The Keg which had fantastic sourdough bread, Mojitos, and views.

We then drove back into the US, and made it to Utica, a town that clearly used to be a city. We stayed in the Hampton Inn there and they gave us free cookies and let us check out DVDs. Nice place.
Friday we arrived in New Hampshire and made our way over to Josiah’s parents’ house for the rehearsal dinner. It was clear immediately that the bride and groom’s families got along splendidly and were cut from similar cloths. The vibe was casual, excited and happy. The food was fantastic and made by the mother of the groom and many other family and friends.

The morning of the wedding was rainy and chilly. John and I made our way to Plymouth for brunch around noon and discovered a cute diner in a traincar! Unfortunately they had already stopped serving breakfast, which seemed odd for a diner. We stopped off to buy a large umbrella and headed over the Hebron, NH where the wedding was taking place at a B&B called Meadow Wind. They set up in the barn because of the rain, which turned out to be such a gorgeous venue.

I made my way upstairs where the ladies were getting ready.
